| I received grade eight with a distinction on Violin at age fourteen, was in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain from age fourteen till age seventeen, then I did a lot of Jazz festival touring with Dylan Fowlers band FREVO and started to improvise. I took up the drum kit and got really serious at the age of twenty two. A couple of years later I started touring with Lewis Taylor, then signed to Island Records. The video on this page is of Lewis performing on 'Later with Jools Holland'. I'm on the drums and singing backing vocals. I played with many other bands, including Mandalay (then with V2) and Touch and Go (who had a hit called "Would You?" that reached number four in the charts). I also started to write songs, sing and produce my music at this time. This, plus arranging and playing strings on other peoples music took over and I decided to pause my professional drumming career. My life has been a winding path of discovery as to where my musical passions lie. Some of the most recent things I've played violin on include the music to the BBC T.V documentary Wild Carribean and the BBC World Service theme tune. |
